With more than twenty years of service with the FDNY, Timothy McCarvill began his career as a firefighter in the Bronx and subsequently achieved the rank of Captain. As the Citywide Interagency Coordinator for NYC Emergency Management, McCarvill was responsible for on-scene coordination of large scale emergency incidents occurring within NYC that required a multi-agency response. In this capacity, he provided expertise in emergency management during emergency responses and recovery operations to ensure the timely and efficient progress of incidents, event resolution and eventual recovery.
An attorney, Timothy McCarvill has been a Criminal Court Representative assigned to the FDNY Bureau of Legal Affairs, which included the handling, preparing and prosecution of criminal summonses generated by the FDNY Bureau of Fire Prevention (BFP). He also served as a DiamondPlate Contributor for the BFP, producing and publishing articles and videos on various topics related to the FDNY Bureau of Fire Prevention. McCarvill has received specialized training as a Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Technician which includes training in emergency response procedures, Special Operations Command (SOC) support operations, decontamination procedures and air monitoring.
Timothy McCarvill holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Degree in Political Science from Fairfield University (Connecticut) as well as a Juris Doctorate, graduating cum laude, from St. John’s University School of Law.
