Michael D. Murphy is a certified and licensed NYS Protection Professional possessing 40+ years of expertise and experience. With more than 20 years as a certified and licensed Fire Safety Director (FSD), 25 years in supervisory or managerial positions and experience as a professional instructor and evaluator of protection staff and programs, Murphy has broad and extensive knowledge of the fire and life safety industry best practices and protocols. A retired NYS DOCCS (Department of Corrections and Community Supervision) Parole Officer, his expansive resume includes FSD positions with commercial office buildings, hotels and the Barclay Center in addition to various supervisory positions and armed security experience.
Michael Murphy holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Security Management with minors in Correctional Administration and Criminology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice as well as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History and Political Science from Syracuse University. Murphy has also obtained many FDNY, FEMA and NYS professional licenses and certifications.
