Martin Munoz is a dedicated law enforcement professional with extensive experience spanning over two decades across multiple agencies in New York City. Since 2008, he has served with the New York City Police Department (NYPD) in various capacities, including as an Academy Instructor at the Chief of Department Office, where he developed curriculum for Department of Homeless Services Peace Officers, specializing in access control and arrest processing. As a Field Training Officer at the Central Park Precinct, he trained and evaluated probationary officers, and as a Patrol Officer, he focused on protecting people and property, responding to calls, enforcing laws, and handling arrest and court procedures.
Before joining the NYPD, Martin Munoz worked with the New York City Department of Correction (NYCDOC) as a Correction Officer at the Adolescent Reception Detention Center, ensuring the safety and security of inmates. He began his career with the New York City Department of Homeless Services (NYC DHS), serving as a Special Officer across multiple facilities, where he provided safety and security for clients and staff while exercising full peace officer powers.
Martin Munoz completed his undergraduate studies in Criminal Justice at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and is completing his graduate degree in Public Administration, with a concentration in Human Resource. He’s an alumnus of the NYPD Leadership Program. He holds certifications as a Municipal Police Training Council Instructor, a DCJS Security Guard Instructor, and has completed specialized training in crisis intervention, advanced law enforcement rapid response, and auto crime investigation. Munoz’s extensive background in law enforcement, training, and security highlights his commitment to public safety and professional development.
