Jeffrey Meister has served more than two decades with the FDNY rising to the ranks of Battalion Chief, supervising seven companies (comprised of 150 members) and assuming incident command at numerous fires and emergency response situations.

An experienced training instructor, Meister has facilitated BISP (Building Inspection Safety Program) and RBIS (Risk-Based Inspection Program) training to FDNY Officers.  He has also trained members of the FDNY on hazardous materials from awareness to technician level. He has received additional training by completing the Chief Officer Command Course and Hazardous Materials Technical Level II.

Meister completed the FDNY Counterterrorism Leadership Program which focuses on defining the threat environment, development of intelligence sharing and working with various groups in the fight against terrorism with specific focus on active shooter, IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices), the use of fire as a weapon, CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) attacks, cyber terrorism, crisis management and leadership. He also serves as an active member of the Fire Protection Technical Committee working with code specialists and building engineers from the NYC Department of Buildings on establishing revisions to the NYC Building Code.

Prior to joining the FDNY, Meister was in high-rise construction, where he supervised approximately 100 employees and worked in various high-rise buildings throughout New York City.  Jeffrey Meister is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Columbia Southern University, holding a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fire Administration.
