Prior to joining Croker, Henry C. Hoffman was employed for 30 years in the Federal Fire Service (Department of Defense). He retired in 2019 as the Fire Chief of the Defense Logistics Agency Depot in New Cumberland, PA. He was responsible for the day-to-day operation of a 42-member career fire department. He also managed the departments three divisions, Emergency Response, Fire Prevention, and Training. During his time as the Deputy Fire Chief, he supervised the fire prevention and training staff. Hoffman was responsible for Fire Code enforcement (NFPA and DOD Fire Codes) and conducted fire prevention data analysis to ensure fire violations were corrected and in compliance with HQ requirements. Hoffman also served as the Fire Department Health and Safety Officer and was responsible for department management in the absence of the Fire Chief.
Prior to his career with the Federal Fire Department, Hoffman served in the United States Marine Corps as an Aircraft Firefighter. He was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Tustin, CA and Okinawa Japan.
Hoffman has received numerous awards and citations including the DLA Distinguished Career Service Award, two (2) DLA (Defense Logistics Agency) Commanders’ Coin Awards. He has also completed numerous supplemental training programs and has received distinguished certifications including, DOD Fire Academy Distinguished Graduate from the Hazardous Material Train-the-Trainer Course, and DOD Hazardous Materials Branch Officer Certification, one of only thirty in the Department of Defense.
Henry Hoffman holds an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S) degree in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University.
