Brian Ott has been a dedicated member of the FDNY for more than 20 years. Rising to the ranks of FDNY Battalion Chief, Ott has been responsible for Incident Command at fire and emergency responses, while also serving as the coordinator of the building inspection program.
An experienced instructor, Brian Ott was the Training Coordinator for the FDNY Fire Academy at Randall’s Island and the Commanding Officer of the Terrorism Awareness Training Program. In such capacity, he developed curriculum for an eight hour training class given to the entire FDNY, which included tabletop scenarios and hands-on drills to be used in training. Furthermore, Ott has trained FDNY Officers in BISP (Building Inspection and Safety Program), RBIS (Risk-Based Inspection Program) as well as HazMat and Emergency Response Plan Training. He has also completed additional training in the Chief Officer Command Course, HazMat Materials Technical Level II, FDNY Counterterrorism Leadership Program among other courses.
Brian Ott holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English, graduating magna cum laude, from St. Francis College. He also achieved a Masters degree in Secondary Education, graduating magna cum laude, from St. John’s University.
