Russell Strobel’s background as an educator (NYC Board of Education) and then subsequently over 25 years of experience with the New York City Fire Department provides a diverse and unique skill set to the Croker Fire and Life Safety Institute team. As an FDNY Battalion Chief, Strobel is responsible for incident command of fires, including establishing strategy for fire extinguishment and mitigation of emergencies. He remains responsible for protection of life and property, inclusive of civilian life and property as well as FDNY firefighters. Depending upon the size of an incident, Strobel has also operated as Sector command. Russell Strobel remains well versed in New York City fire codes and building safety inspection. He graduated from the College of Staten Island (CUNY) with a Master’s in Education.
