James Foster has been employed in the fire and life safety industry since 2013 when he first became an EMT-Basic. While serving as a Force Protection Sergeant, Foster provided protection of life and property for Massachusetts state buildings. As a Rescue Technician, Foster was responsible for performing confined space and high angle rescue operations, as well as conducting site surveys and developing rescue plans in accordance with OSHA regulations. Serving as Captain of Millville Fire Rescue (Millville, MA), Foster serves in the roles of Department Training Officer, Fire Marshal and Operations Section Officer. In this position he also serves as an EMT on Millville’s BLS (Basic Life Support) ambulance responding to 911 calls.
While serving in Afghanistan during “Operation Enduring Freedom”, James Foster performed route clearance/counter IED (Improvised Explosive Device) operations. This mission consisted of clearing supply routes of roadside bombs and other IED’s, collecting evidence from detonation sites for analysis and performance of base security operations. Foster also conducted classes on counter IED tactics and counter IED vehicle equipment operation.
